Create and Assign Security Privileges in D365 F&O


Step #1:

 Open the D365 F&O environment with the “System Administration” Role.

Step #2:

                Go to the Modules >> System administration >> Security Configuration.

Step #3:

                Go to the “Privileges” Tab and Select the “Create New” Button.



Step #4:

                Create a new Privilege with the same name as the “D365 F&O Form Name”.


Step #5:

                After creating the privileges, select the Reference of the Form (Display/Action/Output Menu Items, Duties, Entities, Roles, Tables ) which you want to open from the privileges.

Note: In this scenario, you need to select the “Display Menu Item”.

Step #6:

                Select “Add Reference” >> Filter the Form name from the List >> Set the permission.





Step #7:

                You can add the Table level reference with permission.


Step #8:

                If you want to add the privileges under the Duties, you need to follow the below step.

Filter the Duties>> Select the newly created “Privileges” under in the Reference section.



Step #9:

                If you want to add the privileges under the Roles, you need to follow the below step.

Filter the Roles>> Select the newly created “Privileges” or Duties which are mapped under in the Reference section.




Step #10:

                Please refresh the session and check the permission now.
